He is best known for writing and directing the 2016 film Moonlight, which won three Academy Awards, including Best Picture. His following film, ‘If Beale Street Could Talk,’ was also met with critical acclaim and was nominated for three Academy Awards, winning one. Scott of The New York Times. Filmmaker also named Jenkins one of their “25 New Faces of Independent Film.” Other projects include the shorts Tall Enough and A Young Couple, and the television series ‘The Underground Railroad.’
